Each and every year we look forward to the 2nd weekend of February when the Investec Cape Town Art Fair is happening and the entire city is buzzing with fabulous art. The Cape Town Art Fair has grown from being hosted in a small tent to now being a city wide exhibition with events taking place all over the city of Cape Town. Cape Town has truly become Africa’s contemporary art centre.
The Cape Town Art Fair 2019, bigger than ever
This year’s Cape Town Art Fair added a Gallery Tour on the Friday night and the exhibit itself felt much bigger than last year. No need to say that we spend as much time as possible at the Cape Town Art Fair 2019 and visited the fair every single day that it was open. And each day we discovered new treasures. The Thursday night I always enjoy the Cape Town Art Fair together with a friend, on the Friday I usually attend some talks or workshops and during the weekend I want to show it to Rosie. The Cape Town Art Fair attracts many families with young kids during the weekend so don’t hesitate to bring your kids and teach them from young to look at art and start developing a sense of appreciation and wonder.
The Cape Town Art Fair 2019 according to Rosie
Find below a gallery of pictures I took with Rosie. I take her to the Cape Town Art Fair each year since she’s 5 and I just follow her to see which pieces of art interest her and what she has to say about them. In many pictures you will see her diary which she had just been gifted. Nothing in it written yet but it had to go in all the pictures we took.
Kids have such interesting observations and we both really enjoy spending a few hours at the Cape Town Art Fair.
