Introduction – Solo Parent Adventure
Being a single parent family from the word go, has never stopped me from travelling. Adventurous single parent holidays are not easy to find and that’s why I decided to create them myself. Since 2017 I’ve been creating and organising single parent holidays here in South Africa. Although single parent camping groups seem to be quite popular I would really love to have a great single parent travel club which is why I started organising these trips.
I do have single parents group of great friends in Cape Town but my big vision is to really expand it internationally and have an active single parent club.
The best holiday for single parents are those holidays where the kids are entertained AND where the parents can also have some ‘me’ time by p.e.enjoying awesome balcony view. Continue reading to find out what we have in store for 2019 for adventurous single parents who travel or who would like to have the support of other single parents.
My daughter Rosie (2012) and I are looking forward to welcoming you to beautiful Cape Town. We speak Dutch and English and Rosie is also fluent in French.
CONTACT JESSY HEREIntroduction Jessy Lipperts
My name is Jessy Lipperts, originally from The Netherlands. I’ve been running my own travel company from Cape Town since 2004. Many happy visitors have come and gone and I’ve had the privilege to create and organize many different programs. South Africa is an amazing country where you never need to stop exploring.
Since I adopted little Rosie in 2012, I’ve been traveling a lot as a single parent family. It just never occurred to me to stop traveling. However, a few years in I do realize that it is quite daunting for a lot of single parent families to go on adventures and that it is a lot easier to travel together with other single moms and/or single dads. Rosie and I have traveled to many places together. Check HERE to read about our holiday to Mauritius and THIS link will take you to our 3 day adventure in Paris. We have enjoyed many camping trips in South Africa together with other single parents.
In 2017 I organized the first official Solo Parent Adventure for a small group of single parents after having organized many adventures for friends. Rosie joined on this adventure and I was the guide/organizer.
I’m a qualified National Tourist Guide in South Africa and have been living in Cape Town since 2003. I absolutely love this place. It is a fantastic place to spend time with small children. So don’t delay and book your place now for 2019.

Possibly one of the most memorable experiences of this adventure. Today we will explore one of the vibrant township areas around Cape Town. We will visit a EduCare Centre and community centre and informal settlements. Donations of clothes, pens, books, paper are very welcome. Educare centres in South Africa are not subsidised by the government. They need to do all their own fundraising. It is a big problem because Early Childhood Development is so important as we all know.
Today we will give educare centres a helping hand as much as we can. We work together with www.newkidz.org.za. They do amazing work helping educare centres as well as children’s homes around Cape Town.
In the afternoon we will go to our homes in Langa. We will be welcomed by the different families and stay with them for 1 night. It will be an immersion in Xhosa Culture and language. An unforgettable experience for all!
Dinner: Home Stays with families in Langa
Day 6, Thursday, 24 Oct Cape Wine lands, Stellenbosch

This farm has won many awards for their sustainable way of farming and is Fair Trade accredited. We can enjoy an audio tour and learn more about the history of the farm.
